Surrender v. Resignation

“Surrender” is the hot thing you need to do to reportedly attain enlightenment, higher consciousness, and, hell, even get some relief from suffering. But, like “authenticity”, I’d been having some problems coming up with what surrender actually is. Every time I went to ‘surrender’, I ended up just…giving up. WTF?

After some serious contemplation and soul searching, I’ve come up with the following. It resonates with me. I hope it may offer you some help and direction too.

Resignation:

  • to give up
  • to lose hope
  • to lose trust
  • lack of caring
  • to release control to something known or unknown, which you don’t care to know, because you really just don’t care any more.
